Home Rush History Events BMS Hall Brawl Brothers Alumni Brothers Only Contact Us The 6th Annual East Campus Residence Hall Brawl 2007 Started in 2002, Duke SigEp hosts Hall Brawl each fall, the only all-freshmen athletic competition on campus. The event is based upon competition between freshmen residence halls, with each hall submitting teams for various events, including Ultimate Frisbee, Tug of War, 3-on-3 Basketball, a relay race, and balloon launching. Each event has its on separate tournament with dorms earning points based on their overall record and place. T-shirts are given out to each participant featuring their dorm name, and the Hall Brawl and Balanced Man logos. Prizes are generously donated by local businesses as rewards for high finishers in each event. In addition, food and drinks are provided by our corporate sponsors, Jimmy John’s and Red Bull. Overall, the event draws over 350 participants annually and generates over $1,000, which is donated entirely to the Ronald McDonald House of Durham. Hall Brawl has not only made its mark at Duke, but has spread nationwide. The Duke SigEp Chapter pioneered the event, which is now a national SigEp initiative and is run at over 30 campuses nationwide each year.
